Would Ellen Reckhow like to make another comment about her strong committment to historic preservation? Would Preservation Durham like to continue to praise her "leadership?" I'll make two observations.
1) The county government does not care about historic preservation at all.
2) Preservation Durham is an ineffective organization for Preserving Durham.
May I suggest that you include a link to photos of the older structures in these types of posts? I know that in the heat of the moment you just want to publish as quickly as possible, but not everyone knows that the former site of George's Grill and the produce market are being demolished.
The county government has shown through its actions that while it is happy to throw PD a bone every now and then, they care more about tax revenues than historic preservation. For shame.
